For New Business Owners
Geek Girls exists as a support group for experienced female business owners who have run their company for a while and are established. We are set up so we can talk with technically competent peers who have faced the same issues and can offer practical suggestions.

I'm afraid the times we've brought brand new owners into the mix that we have all ended up spending our time "supporting them" on how to run their business which is what we all do all day long. It turns our dinners into a free consulting group session. Our Geek Girl meetings are intended to be a down time from that type of activity :)

If you're just getting started you'll find a lot of support with the local chamber of commerce - they have free consulting, SCORE consultants and much more to get you up and off the ground.
