TGIFriday's in Millbury has become a new easy meeting place for me. It's right in with the new shopping center in Millbury, and friends can get to it from various local towns by hopping on main roads. While it's easy to get a seat if you go early - say 5:30 - the place can become completely mobbed if you wait until 6 or 7pm.

TGIFriday's is of course a chain, so much of what they offer is standard pub fare. There are burgers, sandwiches, pasta dishes. The appetizer selections are equally well known - potato skins, mozarella sticks, chicken wings. They've got a wide selection of cocktail styles, including the double-o-7 orange cocktail that I love.

The staff here is incredibly friendly. One time we showed up and the menu had changed - the double-O-7 drink had been taken off it. I tried to describe what was in it and they figured out exactly what I wanted and brought it over. The next time I came in - several weeks later - they remembered us right away and knew what we'd want. We've seen them do this with other people as well, so they really do try to pay attention and make you feel at home.

The food is quick and fresh, pub style. You get servings of french fries with your burgers, or a pile of broccoli with your steak. We're not talking about high class cuisine here, but it is certainly well worth the price. Families hang out in here as well as businesspeople having a drink and a snack after work.

The decor is fun and friendly, with themed areas based on sports or areas of the country. Again, it's casual but clean.

Even when we've lingered to talk and relax, we've NEVER felt hurried or rushed by the staff, even when others were waiting for tables. We didn't realize at the time of course that a backlog had formed, and felt a little guilty when we left and saw others were in line to get in. Still, kudos go to the staff for making every person there feel truly welcome and wanted.

We gladly go back frequently!

Menu: Casual Pub Fare
Wine List: Few items, mostly cocktails
Dress: Family Casual
