This restaurant is pretty amazing to find in the middle of Uxbridge, a quiet town with country bars and car repair shops. Located right off of Route 146, the Oyster Cabin has a warm, dark wood interior with high bench seats that let you feel quite cozy. There's a quiet bar here, too, if you want to come in for a few hours of rest and relaxation.

I went with two friends to see what this restaurant was all about. We ordered a 1998 Chateau del Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet which was fruity, crisp and smooth. The light acidity did marvels cutting through the dishes we had.

We all began with the mushroom soup with white truffles. It was poured out for us fresh at the table, and was smooth and rich. It wasn't heavy, a perfect start. We also were given fresh, homemade bread. Among the selections were breads with zuccini, pineapple and sage!

I had the perch with asparagus risotto. It was light and filling, with a fresh, creamy sauce. I enjoyed it immensely. The other two also loved the dishes they had.

For dessert I tried the chocolate truffle torte, with Mathilde framboise to go with it. I'm a big fan of the raspberry liqueur so I loved that, and it went extremely well with the truffle. One of the women had a glass of regular Californian Chardonnay to sip as a dessert, and we were all impressed with how heavy and oaky it tasted after having finished the Maltroye.

The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side - our dinner came to $221 for the three of us. But the wine was delicious, the foods were all quite exceptional, and the atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing. Perhaps the only complaint I could make is that there were many times that I sat with an empty water glass, waiting for it to be refilled. But in general, I would love to go back here for special evenings.

Menu: Elegant options, all quite delicious
Wine List: Great selection
Dress: While the food is exquisite, the atmosphere is quite comfortable
Staff: Helpful when around, but not always easily available
