We had gone to Racha Thai several times when it was located next to Spag's in Shrewsbury. When we got our Entertainment book and saw they had a Racha Thai listed in Millbury, we were confused and decided to track it down. It turns out it is the exact same restaurant that has moved into a grubby strip mall off of Route 20, next to a McDonalds and across the street from a Wendy's. It's really a shame, because it appears that few people are finding it in this new location.

Once you get IN the front door of the restaurant, it is quite lovely. There is a small entryway area and then the main dining room. We were the only ones there when we arrived - mid-evening on a weeknight. There was soft music playing, interesting Indian artworks on the walls, etched glass on the back. Our waitress was quite attentive and took care of us all evening. There was one other couple that came in about half-way through the meal, but we really wish more had arrived.

I began with a clear thread soup, which was VERY hot and quite tasty. There were a wide variety of veggies in the soup that added to its flavor. My boyfriend got a mixed appetizer plate and enjoyed everything on it, from satay to golden cups to other items. I got beef satay and enjoyed the peanut sauce and cucumber bits that came with it.

On to the main dish, I had beef masaman curry and he had green curry. I was interested that mine had no potatoes in it. Usually beef masaman curries have potatoes. I generally try to do low carb so I was actually pleased with this, but curious. It was REALLY good over the rice. My boyfriend equally loved his curry. I at first thought the sauce a little thin, but it soaked so well into the rice that I decided maybe this was better than other thicker versions I'd had in the past.

We were too full for dessert, but we were extremely happy in general with the restaurant. If only more people would go there, so we didn't have to worry about it vanishing again!!
