The Peabody Essex Museum is located in Salem, Massachusetts. It is one of the oldest museums in the United States, if not THE oldest. It contains a wealth of antique items gathered by sailors in the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s, as well as modern works.
These 155 photos were taken by me on a trip to the Peabody Essex Museum in December 2013. There are a number of tsuba and netsuke photos in here, as well as figureheads, wine goblets, foo dogs, and even paintings done by elephants!
